Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 18, 2026

God of Space runs entirely in your browser. We never see, store, or have access to your Google files, emails, or personal data.

1. What God of Space Is

God of Space is a Chrome browser extension that helps you understand and manage your Google storage (Drive and Gmail). It communicates directly with Google's APIs from your browser — there is no middleman server processing your data.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:

  • Your Google Drive files or their contents
  • Your Gmail messages, subjects, or attachments
  • Your Google Photos
  • Your Google account password
  • Your browsing history or activity outside the extension

3. How Your Data Is Processed

3.1 Google API Access

When you sign in with Google, you grant the extension permission to access your Drive and Gmail data through Google's official OAuth 2.0 system. The extension uses this access to:

  • Read your storage quota and file metadata (names, sizes, dates, types)
  • Read Gmail message metadata (senders, sizes, labels)
  • Move files to trash or permanently delete files you select
  • Download file contents for backup (zip download to your computer)

All of this happens directly between your browser and Google's servers. Our servers are never involved in this data flow.

3.2 Local Browser Storage

The extension stores scan results and preferences in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. This includes:

  • Cached scan data (file sizes, categories) to avoid repeated API calls
  • Your email address (for plan verification)
  • Plan status and cleanup history summary

This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.

3.3 Backup Downloads

When you use the "Download Backup" feature, files are fetched from Google Drive and packaged into a ZIP file entirely within your browser. The ZIP downloads directly to your computer. No file contents pass through our servers.

4. Data We Do Collect

Our backend server processes a minimal amount of data required for licensing and payments:

  • Email address — Your Google account email, used to identify your license
  • Plan status — Whether you have a free, single, or unlimited plan
  • Payment records — Order ID, payment ID, and plan type (processed by Razorpay; we do not store card numbers or UPI details)
  • Cleanup summary — Number of items deleted and type (drive/gmail), for your cleanup history display. We do not store which specific files or emails were deleted.
  • OTP records — For the Unlimited plan family sharing feature, we store the requester's email and a temporary OTP code

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 Google APIs

God of Space's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5.2 Razorpay

Payments are processed by Razorpay. When you make a payment, you interact directly with Razorpay's payment page. We receive a payment confirmation but never see your card number, UPI ID, or bank details. See Razorpay's privacy policy.

5.3 Firebase / Google Cloud

Our backend uses Google Cloud (Firebase Firestore) to store license and payment data described in Section 4. This infrastructure is hosted in Google Cloud's secure data centers.

6. Google OAuth Permissions

The extension requests the following Google OAuth scopes:

  • drive.readonly — Read file metadata for scanning
  • drive — Delete/trash files you select for cleanup
  • gmail.readonly — Read message metadata for scanning
  • gmail.modify — Trash messages you select for cleanup

You can revoke these permissions at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

7. Data Retention

  • Local scan data — Stored until you clear it or remove the extension
  • License records — Retained for the duration of your plan, plus 1 year for support purposes
  • Payment records — Retained as required by Indian tax and accounting regulations
  • OTP codes — Automatically expire after 10 minutes

8. Data Security

All communication between the extension and Google's APIs uses HTTPS encryption. Communication with our backend also uses HTTPS. We do not store sensitive authentication tokens on our servers — OAuth tokens exist only in your browser session.

9. Children's Privacy

God of Space is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. Your Rights

You can:

  • Revoke access — Remove Google permissions from your Google account at any time
  • Delete local data — Remove the extension from Chrome to clear all local data
  • Request data deletion — Email us to delete your license and payment records from our backend
  • Request data export — Email us to receive a copy of the data we hold about you

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
